Hey guys, if you’re into stylish SUVs with loads of cool features, get ready to meet the Cherry Tiggo 8 Pro Max! This car has got everything – a powerful engine, high-tech stuff, and some serious space. I had a chance to check it out, and let’s just say it ticked a lot of boxes.
Let’s Talk About the Ride
The first thing I did with this car was hit some gravel roads. Why? Because I know a lot of you guys go home to visit family on roads that, well… aren’t highways. The good news is that the Tiggo 8 Pro Max handles the rough stuff surprisingly well. The suspension is solid, and it feels good on the road.
Power Under the Hood
This Cherry has a 2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that works with a 7-speed gearbox. It’s got 187 kilowatts of power and 390 NM of torque. Now, that’s more power than a Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI! You’ll have no problems zooming past slower cars. But, keep in mind the Tiggo is heavier, so a GTI will still be faster off the line. This car guzzles fuel, though. Cherry claims 7.6 liters per 100 kilometers, but I was getting closer to 11.6. It has different driving modes to help save a bit of gas:
- Eco Mode: For chill driving.
- Normal Mode: Your everyday setting.
- Sport Mode: My favorite, obviously! 😎
Features Galore
This SUV is loaded! Here’s my favorite, hands down:
- Voice Commands: Just say “Cherry, open the sunroof,” and your wish is its command!
Other cool stuff:
- 12.3-inch Infotainment Screen: Has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Touch Controls: It’s a bit fancy, but I still like good ol’ fashioned knobs for climate control.
- Heated and Cooled Seats: Perfect for hot and cold days!
- Wireless Charger, Proper Gear Lever, Big Center Armrest with Cooling: It’s all about comfort in here.
- Digital Dashboard: Keeps you updated on speed and all the important stuff.
Safety First
The Tiggo 8 Pro Max won’t let you down on safety:
- Nine (!!) Airbags: Yup, NINE.
- Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring: This stuff basically helps you be a safer driver.
- Emergency Braking: Just in case!
Those Lights, Though!
These crystal matrix taillights are straight-up awesome. And, let me tell you, the indicators are BRIGHT! You might even be able to communicate with aliens using them. 😉
Let’s Talk Practicality
- Trunk Space: 117 liters with all seats up, but that jumps to 739 liters if you fold down some seats.
- Spare Tire: It has one tucked under the car – important if you’re going on those gravel roads I mentioned!
Comfort Check
- Backseat Chill Zone: Nice seats, legroom, air vents, USB ports, and a center armrest.
- Third Row: Honestly, it’s mostly for kids or short trips if you’re an adult.
The Price Tag
The Cherry Tiggo 8 Pro Max will set you back about R669,900. Here’s a rough estimate on monthly costs:
- Payment: Roughly R13,097 per month (6 years, 12% interest).
- Fuel: About R1,185 for a full tank.
- Insurance: Maybe R2,300.
- Total Monthly: Around R16,582
Peace of Mind
Cherry wants you relaxed with a serious warranty package:
- Service Plan: 7 years/90,000 kilometers.
- Warranty: 5 years/150,000 kilometers.
- Engine Warranty: A whopping 10 years/1,000,000 kilometers (if you’re the first owner)
My Wish to Cherry
Hey Cherry, how about a hot hatch version of this? Make it a Tiggo 2 Pro Max with a sunroof and a cool exhaust – you’d sell a ton!
That’s a Wrap!
